CommsCamp Scotland

CommsCamp will return to Glasgow for another CommsCamp Scotland on 3rd April 2025.

CommsCamp brings public sector and third sector comms folk into a room together and lets the magic happen.

Attendees set the agenda, raise the issues they’re facing and then tackle them together. We eat cake until we’re almost sick for great charities. We see fierce baking competitiveness. We have a cathartic giggle together, make new friends, catch up with old pals and raise funds for special causes.

How can I be there?

All tickets have now been snapped up in our three ticket drops.

Please – if you can no longer make the event let us know and surrender your ticket. We always have a long waiting list so we allocate from this rather than swapping to another name to be fair as possible.

Shout-out to our sponsors

Thanks to our sponsors, CommsCamp will always be free for everyone.

You are absolute legends, as quite frankly CommsCamp couldn’t happen without your cash and in-kind generosity.

Platinum sponsor

Glasgow University’s Queen Margaret Union (QMU) has provided the venue for the event free of charge. This has helped immeasurably with the ability to put on this event. Thank you.

Gold sponsors

We’re super stoked that CAN is a gold sponsor once again. CAN is a media-buying and campaign-management partner. They only work with public sector organisations. The team deliver low-cost-per-outcome, measurable solutions.
They have empowered organisations across the UK to unlock income and savings since 2014.

CAN understands that public sector comms folk work on some of the hardest issues, with some of the smallest budgets. They have supported CommsCamp for many years including the first event in Scotland.

Our long time pals at Touch Design are back for another year. An award winning creative agency who has worked with public and third sector comms teams for 17 years. The team is part of the nuts and bolts of CommsCamp.

LGcomms is looking to expand its growing network of members across Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England. Supporting communications professionals at all levels to gain the strategic and operational skills they need to successfully influence and engage internal and external stakeholders, whilst driving up standards and achieving better outcomes for residents and communities.

John and his team use their expertise to help drive positive social change, including within the communications industry, and are delighted to be sponsors of CommsCamp Scotland.

Bronze sponsors

The totally awesome National Communications Group Scotland  is a bronze sponsor. Set up as a community of practice across local government communicators in Scotland, the group aims to share best practice and working with its membership as well as training where possible.

Scottish Water

A warm welcome back to commscamp for Scottish Water who return as second-time sponsors! Scottish Water is a publicly-owned organisation, whose services support 5 million people every day.

Communications and engagement plays a key role in its activity and they’re delighted to be able to once again demonstrate that commitment by coming on board, recognising the importance of the public sector communications community across the country and learning together.

CIPR Inside

Back again as bronze sponsors are the fab folk at CIPR Inside. They’re a specialist group of the Chartered Institute for Public Relations for internal communication and employee engagement professionals. The group‘s run entirely by volunteers and are all about supporting IC folk, sharing best practice, and celebrating the wonderful people who keep our organisations informed and in the know.

CIPR Inside helps connect internal and external communication in line with the belief that comms should be integrated and joined up. They regularly run events for members and non-members to join which can be found on www.cipr.co.uk/inside

What’s it all about?

A not for profit unconference for communications/PR professionals working public and third sector organisations.

Free to attend, we follow open space principles – with the agenda set by you. Everyone leaves their job title at the door. Everyone is welcome to give their 30 second pitch for a 45-minute session they’d like to host. This might be a problem you’ve already worked through and want to share learnings on, or an issue you’d like to collaborate to solve.

We have listened to feedback about the pitching process. If you feel it would be good to have the support of a volunteer to help you pitch a session on the day or run a session, please drop a note to Leanne. We will have volunteers on standby at the event to offer this help to anyone who needs it.

No PowerPoints and no lectures!

How to get to CommsCamp Scotland from Hillhead subway station

Do good

We will be collecting dry and canned food products on the day for a local foodbank as well as donations for the QMU’s ‘Elephant in the Room’ charity. It aims to help students with their mental health by organising support activities throughout the year. Dig deep!

Pre-event social

There is always a pre-event social too, usually a curry the evening before. Sign-up details will be emailed directly to all attendees. We don’t take a deposit but we do have to cover the reservation so please let us know if you sign up and can’t make it. All welcome to the pre and post drinks.
